Job Summary The Accounting Supervisor supervises associates working in one or more accounting functions. Typically supervises associates that record transactions, invoices, or payments to the organization's general ledger or accounts payables/receivables systems. Ensures transactions or records are entered accurately and in a timely manner. Researches and resolves discrepancies. Assists the hotel leadership with accounting close processes or the creation of financial statements and reports. Responsibilities QUALIFICATIONS: * A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. Actively enrolled to complete Accounting or Finance degree acceptable. * A minimum of 1 year in public accounting and/or accounting management preferred. * Experience in the hospitality or real estate industry a plus. * Experience with income reporting and auditing a plus. * Requires extensive knowledge of all areas of hotel accounting and finance. * Strong leadership coordination and coaching skills. * Requires thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). * Strong computer and Microsoft Excel skills. * Strong communication and interviewing skills. * Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Detail oriented with strong problem solving, critical thinking/analytical ability. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Adhere to the policies outlined in the Aimbridge Employee Handbook. * Establishes and maintains relationships with hotel leadership including all interactions processes and workflow necessary to ensure that property-level financial results are accurately communicated. * Maintains accounting policies and procedures and systems of internal control. * Assists with the coordination of responses to internal and external audit groups. * Ensures implementation and adherence to Aimbridge document management and retention policies. * Helps with oversight of daily and period-closing activities and provides guidance to General Accountants during the process. * Position will review, reconcile, verify, publish, and report daily revenue total revenue. * Position will review, reconcile, verify, publish, and report daily revenue total revenue. * Will assist with conducting routine recurring internal audits of control processes and accounting projects. * Position will not have direct supervisory duties of associates. * Oversee issues to find resolution of accounting discrepancies and issues and escalates accordingly. * Review and approve property financial reports and analysis * Ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial statements through review and ensuring monthly closing steps have been performed completely and accurately. * Reviews Chargeback disputes and provides support to challenge erroneous claims. * Participate in meetings and on committees as requested by leadership and management. * Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations. * Develops understanding of multiple reporting systems and conducts training opportunities with teams. * Oversees staff development, ensuring training checklists are fully utilized and updated as needed.
