received.Key RolesEast Kentucky Power Cooperative, Inc. has an
immediate opening for a Senior Revenue Accountant at our
Winchester, Kentucky headquarters. This position analyzes RTO
transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment and inclusion in
cost recovery mechanisms; interprets tariffs and industrial
contracts; ensures accurate and timely monthly power billing to
member systems; and prepares monthly fuel adjustment clause
calculations. The Senior Revenue Accountant position requires
strong technical accounting skills, the ability to analyze and
interpret complex data, explain account variances, and ensure the
proper, accurate, and timely completion of financial reports
related to revenue. Ensures compliance with the requirements of
generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and various
regulatory agencies including Rural Utilities Service (RUS),
Kentucky Public Service Commission (KPSC), Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission (FERC), Internal Revenue Service (IRS),
Kentucky Department of Revenue as well as the policies established
by East Kentucky Power Cooperative.Please note there is one
position available and the position will be filled at either the
Senior or Accountant level. This decision will be made based upon

role.Key ResponsibilitiesRevenue:Analyzes RTO transactions, reviews
settlements and related reports completed by ACES, and tracks
disputesWorks closely with Power Supply and Performance and
Improvement groups to resolve and research issues to ensure RTO
purchases and sales are properly reconciled and recorded at
month-endAnalyzes and validates all other power and transmission
revenues, and related costsValidates RTO, Power and Transmission
vendor invoices for paymentPrepares wholesale power billing using
MVPBSEvaluates wholesale contracts and tariffs to determine
required updates to MVPBSPrepares and analyzes transmission billing
to entities as contracts requirePrepares month-end sales, purchased
power, and transmission journal entriesPrepares internal and
external financial reports; explains relevant accounting
transactions; resolves accounting issues and discrepanciesPrepares
regulatory filings and reports (i.e. FERC, RUS, PSC Fuel Adjustment
Clause)Prepares annual budget for transmission and wheelingActively
participates in and supports special projects throughout the
yearPromotes an environment of excellence by recommending and
implementing continuous improvement in efficiency and
effectivenessGeneral Accounting:Analyzes complex financial data and
extracts and defines relevant informationExercises accounting
control over a group of accounts within a given specialized
areaRecords, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and
events in accordance with RUS and GAAPInitiates and processes
journal entries into various accountsReconciles sub-ledgers to the
general ledger and resolves differencesKey RequirementsEducation
and Certifications / Licenses:Bachelor's degree in a related area
required.Advanced degrees and/or certifications, including CPA,
preferred.Experience:Seven years of related experienceSkills and
Abilities:Knowledge of Rural Development Utilities Programs (RDUP)
accounting preferredKnowledge of PSC regulationsKnowledge of RTO
transactions and billing codes, PJM preferredKnowledge of
