Aston Carter is partnering with a long standing client in Lexington, KY seeking a Staff Accountant for their growing team. This is an entry level Staff role, seeking 0-3 years' experience and requiring a Bachelor's Degree. The client allows remote work after training but does require the Staff Accountant to be on-site during month end close. See below for additional details!
Job Description:

• 
  The Staff accountant will work on a specialized team with our client and will mainly be responsible for bank reconciliations.
  
  
• 
  Responsible for bank reconcilitations monthly and some weekly
  
  
• 
  Will need to utilize multiple systems for the reconciliations including banking proprietary systems and Oracle.
  
  
• 
  Reconciling between systems and Excel then feeding in to the Oracle ERP system to ensure accuracy of accounts.
  
  
• 
  Responsible for month end close duties including corrections, journal entries, correcting any errors in the General Ledger or any errors from transactional accounting bookings within AP/AR.
  
  
• 
  Must have the ability to research issues as they arise and be able to follow documented processes and procedures, but look in to anything that comes up outside of the normal procedures.
  
  
• 
  Must understand debits & credits and how accounting works/flows in order to research these issues.
  
  
• 
  Main responsibilities will be bank reconciliations and managing the balance sheet - reconciling all accounts at month end before balance sheet is finalized.
  
  
  Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • 
    0-3 years' experience in accounting
    
    
  • 
    Entry level with Bachelor's Degree
    
    
  • 
    Ability to multi task
    
    
  • 
    Ability to research accounting issues outside of written processes & procedures
    
    
  • 
    Excel - V-lookups & formulas, ability to learn other tasks within Excel such a Pivot tables
