Job Description:
1st Shift Building Maintenance Technician A well-established
organization in Cincinnati, OH is looking for a full-time Building
Maintenance Technician. 1st Shift Monday-Friday $18 per hour
Position Details The Maintenance Technician supports the
organization by ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
for students, staff, and visitors. This role is responsible for
maintaining the school building and grounds, performing routine
maintenance and repairs, and upholding the cleanliness of all
facilities. The Maintenance Technician may also help support
special events. MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND REGULAR
ACTIVITIES 1) Cleaning & Sanitation: Perform daily cleaning of
classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and other areas to
maintain a sanitary environment. Ensure floors are swept, mopped,
and vacuumed as needed, wash windows and glass surfaces. Empty and
dispose of trash and recycling; restock supplies in restrooms and
other areas. Sanitize high-touch surfaces to meet health and safety
standards. 2) Maintenance & Repairs: Perform basic plumbing,
electrical, carpentry, and HVAC tasks to address immediate repair
needs. Assist in routine inspections of the building and grounds to
identify potential hazards and maintenance needs. Work with the
maintenance supervisor and the school administration to schedule
larger repairs with outside contractors as necessary. 3)
Groundskeeping: Maintain the school grounds, including landscaping,
snow removal, leaf collection, and minor repairs to playground
equipment. Maintain sidewalks, parking areas, and entryways to
ensure safe and unobstructed access. 4) Prepare Events: Set up and
take down chairs, tables, and equipment for school events,
including religious services, assemblies, and community gatherings.
Assist with special custodial needs during events, ensuring a clean
environment for all participants. 5)Safety & Compliance: Follow and
enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of
students, staff, and visitors. Maintain records of cleaning
schedules, maintenance tasks, and repairs to comply with school
policies and health standards. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND/OR ABILITIES
Basic knowledge of building systems (e.g., basic HVAC, plumbing,
electrical, painting, drywall). Able to work with various hand
tools, power tools, lawn and garden equipment, and other power
equipment, including floor scrubbers, buffers and vacuums Ability
to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and perform
physically demanding tasks. Detail-oriented, self-motivated and
able to take initiative Ability to relate to a variety of persons
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT A candidate must be able
to lift 50 pounds and move heavy objects, stand or walk for
extended periods, and work in varying weather conditions. Evening
and weekend work will be required. On-call availability may also be
required. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma
or equivalent. Prior experience in custodial, maintenance, or
facilities work, preferably in an educational or religious
institution. Previous training or applicable experience OTHER
