Job Description:
New career opportunity with a specialized manufacturer of
automotive drivetrain units. We are currently seeking a candidate
able to perform all functions of Tech I & Tech II positions and
provide back-up support as necessary. You will support production
processes by problem solving and recommending/taking effective
counter-measures to those problems. Assist Production and Quality
Control in producing the correct part to the correct
specifications. Essential Functions:
- Follows Company policies as directed by the Employee Handbook,
the Safety Rules and Regulations, and the Quality Manual.
- Conducts investigations and makes recommendations to improve
in-line process accuracy.
- Conducts investigations and makes recommendations for cost
reduction activities related to processes, equipment, tooling
etc.
- Participates in quotation process for customers.
- Participates in the creation and revision of the Process
Control charts, Operation Sheets, Pokayoke Instructions, Standard
Operation Sheets, and FMEA.
- Assists maintenance team in troubleshooting machines as needed.
Also, supports production by correcting floor problems related to
poor quality or high costs.
- Investigates and provides input for facility
changes/improvements through kaizen activities or to meet mandated
regulations, e.g. compliance with OSHA.
- Investigates and provides input for specifying new machines
required to make new products and for reducing costs and improving
quality like pokayoke machines or devices.
- Designs gauges/fixtures for making and checking production
parts as specified on the Process Control Charts.
- Approves and revises setup procedures, tool change procedures,
and equipment check sheets in conjunction with Production.
- Participates with the revision of control plans and operation
standards, which Corporate Company customizes for Company Inc.
- Provides technical training support to Production
Department.
- Performs back-up for Engineering Technician I & II.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (Associate's Degree preferred).
- At least 5 years related experience (or at least 2 years with
Associate's Degree).
- Computer literate in MS Office software (Word, Excel, and
Access).
- Basic experience with AutoCAD or equivalent.
- Above average math and organizational skills.
- Above average communication and customer service skills.
- Able to interpret product drawings and to make tool and fixture
drawings.
- Able to write and edit basic CNC programs.
