Siemens Mobility US is looking for aspiring engineers to come
aboard for a 6-month internship journey where they will get
exposure to what happens behind the scenes to make the rail world
go round.
During your journey with us, you will have the opportunity to
immerse yourself in the Rail Infrastructure (RI) Engineering
department where you will learn how our crossing, signaling, and
train control products enable the safe and efficient operation of
mission-critical railroad systems.

A little bit about us...
Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated transportation
of people and goods by rail - including rolling stock, rail
automation, rail electrification, and service. Using state of the
art equipment, we craft and manufacture across the entire spectrum
of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains,
light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches,
and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to
provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as
well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger
rail and transit systems.
The RI North America Engineering team brings extensive expertise in
vital signaling, train control and electrification technologies
that enable the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of
freight and passenger rail systems across North America.
What you will do...
--- Learn about our standard processes.
--- Work with testing personnel and project managers to learn about
the design, development, and testing of vital signaling and train
control products and systems, through shadowing and the assignment
of relevant tasks to build up your practical knowledge.
--- Interface with different areas of the engineering department
and learn about how collaboration drives success.
--- Gain insight into engineering essentials related to activities
such as system design/operation, hardware/software development,
troubleshooting, and project management activities.

Basic Qualifications:
--- Must be pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering
- Mechanical, Electrical, Computer or similar from an accredited
college or university
--- Legal authorization to work in the US is required
--- Must reside or go to school near internship location
(Louisville, Kentucky).
Preferred Qualifications:
--- Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0
--- Previous internship experience or relevant school projects
--- Strong communication skills - verbal and written
--- Ability to work on a team
--- Interest in learning about the rail industry - Software and
Hardware Development, System Design, Project Management, etc.
The hourly pay range for this position is $25 - $30 per hour, based
off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may
be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience,
knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into
our 401K program.
