A Metrology Technician job in Cincinnati, OH is currently available through Belcan. In this role, you will be responsible for document, and maintain calibration systems, procedures, and methods for electrical, dimensional, optical, physical, mechanical, environmental, and/or chemical inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IM&TE) based on analysis of measurement problems, and accuracy and precision requirements. To be considered for this role, you will have a Minimum high school diploma however prefer a two year associate degree in engineering technology, instrumentation, or metrology preferred, and two years minimum experience as a calibration technician in a GMP environment. Experience in clean room environmental controlled areas is strongly preferred. This is a very visible, direct hire opportunity with a growing company and has excellent upward mobility. Metrology Technician job responsibility Apply measurement science, mathematics, and physics to develop, document, and maintain calibration systems, procedures, and methods for electrical, dimensional, optical, physical, mechanical, environmental, and/or chemical inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IM&TE) based on analysis of measurement problems, and accuracy and precision requirements. Follow existing calibration methods and procedures. Evaluate new calibration methods and procedures. Use appropriate statistical methods to analyze measurement standards and processes. Identify statistical limitations and work within statistical accuracy capability of tools and equipment. Recommend calibration standards and IM&TE. Maintain calibration laboratory and/or departmental accreditation and quality systems. Perform laboratory and/or departmental administration and management. Manage documentation in compliance with accepted standards for good documentation practices. Enter records to validated record keeping standards, following records management procedures. Protect data integrity. Respond to daily assignments to measure, repair, and inspect instruments to correct calibration errors. Maintain competency and continue to develop skills in metrology and calibration. Learn new equipment, tools, and procedures. Perform adjustments and repairs to instruments to maintain calibration. Assess measurements and calibration capability of equipment. Perform life cycle costing. Develop machine standards of measurements and recommendations. Qualifications: Minimum high school diploma. Two year associate degree in engineering technology, instrumentation, or metrology preferred. Two years minimum experience as a calibration technician in a GMP environment. Prefer experience in clean room environmental controlled areas. Knowledge of methods of planning, developing, and administering programs. Knowledge of state and federal laws and legislative processes related to the work. Knowledge of reporting methods and techniques. Understanding of basic statistics as applied to calibration and metrology. Knowledge of good documentation and records practices. Knowledge of the National Institute of Standards and Technology handbook covering Specifications, tolerances, and requirements for commercial weighing and measuring devices. Knowledge of basic physical properties of solids, compressible and non-compressible fluids as related to metrology. Knowledge of the principles of metrology.
