Senior Product Engineer

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Results Area:

- Duties include research, evaluation, development, and application of new processes and methods into products. Responsible for establishing and conducting testing routines, developing or executing project plans, budgets, and schedules, and documentation of work and results.

- Responsible for working with development on manufacturability and assessing readiness of the product and process for start of production

- Coordinate failure analysis to determine root cause and appropriate corrective actions

- Work encompasses one or more areas of engineering including electrical systems, mechanical, chemical, reliability engineering, failure analysis, tooling and/or other related fields

- Consolidate and communicate current product issues and EC details to development teams for continuous improvement generation to generation

- Product Engineer to work with New Product Development, Manufacturing Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering teams for new product introductions and ongoing support

- Vendor support and interface on technical issues/topics

- Develop and confirm test methodologies to validate product/process, including development of test equipment.

- Develop and conduct engineering projects which will provide solutions to product performance and/or manufacturing issues.

- Evaluate and discuss product issues with Suppliers, TSI factories and non-technical personnel

- Identify methods of improving the productivity of existing systems, taking into consideration the use of latest technology

- Apply statistical methods to characterize product performance for improved fact-based decision making

- Strong analytic and strategic problem-solving ability

- Flexible team player with strong relationship-building skills, willing to seek and accept input from others

- Ability to multi-task and run multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment

- Strong project and product management skills

- Self-starting, engineering generalist interested in building knowledge and executing projects spanning multiple engineering disciplines

- Excellent business communication skills, both written and oral

- Lean manufacturing knowledge and experience

- Proficiency in statistical and data management/evaluation

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical degree

- Leader with 5-10 years of experience supporting, developing or manufacturing Electromechanical products

- Experience solving problems involving multiple engineering skill sets

- Knowledge of project planning and management skills - Ability to set project goals, milestones, allocate and prioritize resources, activities and timetables

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing

- Experience in Finite Element Analysis a plus

- Experience with Acoustics and Sound Measurement a plus

- Experience with products at both component and system levels a plus

- Working knowledge of Regulatory and Compliance standards for Electromechanical products is a plus

- Experience with Quality Auditing (internal or external) a plus

Work Environment/Physical Requirements: Fast-paced corporate office environment with a portion of time being spent being hands-on in the Lab and factory floor. Some stress may occur. Approximately 15% travel. Routine handling of product should be expected.
