Job Summary
The Director of Student Conduct provides comprehensive leadership,
management, and vision for the University's Office of Student
Conduct. The Director is responsible for administering the student
conduct process and adjudicating alleged violations of the
University's Code of Student Conduct. Additional responsibilities
will include designing and implementing the training of students,
faculty, and staff who assist with student conduct processes;
implementing and serving on a committee for periodic review and
modification of the university's Code of Student Conduct and
University Housing Community Standards; successfully incorporating
the philosophy of promoting student development while upholding
university student conduct standards; awareness of national trends
related to student rights and responsibilities, restorative
justice, conflict management, writing goals and objectives,
conducting assessments and leading long term departmental strategic
planning.
The position is a part of the broader Dean of Students structure,
which grounds its work in core values of integrity, inclusion, and
integration. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of issues or
difficulties facing student populations; knowledge of college
student mental health and campus and community resources;
experience responding to individuals with complex support and
behavioral needs; ability to respond compassionately to a variety
of student needs and concerns; knowledge of social justice,
inclusion, oppression, privilege and power and the ability to
incorporate this understanding into practice; excellent
interpersonal, decision making and verbal and written communication
skills; strong attention to detail and planning and organizational
skills; ability to demonstrate independent judgment regarding
student issues. We are seeking a collaborative team player with
high emotional intelligence.
