Job Summary: The Tempur Sealy Brand Development Manager is responsible for the cultivation and growth of incremental revenue streams focusing on brand licensing, hospitality, and other new business opportunities. The Brand Development Manager reports to the VP of TSI Brand Management and works across the entire TSI brand portfolio: Tempur-Pedic, Sealy and Stearns & Foster. The TSI Brand Development Manager (BDM) will work closely with the broader Brand Management organization, along with Brand Activation, Finance, Sales and Legal to execute at a high level. In addition, this individual will be the subject matter expert for their business, understanding market trends and bringing innovative concepts to market. The ideal candidate for this position will champion brand expansion and possess the discipline to effectively lead multiple initiatives across many categories.

- Based on consumer insights and trends, the BDM will actively evaluate new business and product opportunities to extend TSI brands. Depending on specifics, these initiatives can be advanced through either internal TSI development or external licensed products.

- The BDM will direct $50MM+ US and Canada licensing business across multiple licensee partners across all TSI brands. This individual will build, manage, and grow relationships with licensees to support business goals that align with brand strategies. This individual will be the brand's advocate ensuring that new and existing products enhance the brand and maintain the brand's positioning in the bedding market.

- Additionally, the BDM will work closely with the US Hospitality Sales Team to support business growth in the $50MM+ hospitality channel and lead hospitality product efforts. TSI has a strong market position in hospitality and has its sights set on becoming the leader in N America and globally.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Results Area:

Brand Strategy:

Analyzes brand portfolio to help identify opportunities such as adjacent product categories and channel expansion / diversification.

Working with Global Licensing - sets the near- and long-term strategy to drive N. American Licensing opportunities.

Directs the North American licensees in the development and growth of product lines that align with brand strategies.

Develop licensing strategy and partner relationships that are best-in-class to win in the market and grow brands versus competition.

Partner with US Hospitality Sales Team to develop winning brand and product strategies to drive profitable share growth with existing and new hotel partners.

Business and Financial Management:

Responsible for translating business objectives into actionable, coordinated annual plans to deliver budget.

Prepares and presents monthly/quarterly/annual business reviews with TSI business units including marketing, sales and finance.

Ensures compliance of licensee agreements -- guarantees, distribution channels and product categories.

Working with Global Licensing - negotiates terms and conditions of new licensed agreements/relationships and renewals to ensure that all legal TSI requirements are met.

Understands and anticipates potential opportunities and challenges in the market that may affect extension renewal or new agreements.

Innovation and Product Portfolio Management:

Working with Brand Managers and cross-functional teams, define and deliver new product extensions that leverage internal TSI capabilities.

Partners with licensees to develop winning product pipelines that leverage TSI brand innovation themes and positions.

Identifies gaps and opportunities in licensee product portfolio and works with licensee to address.

Works closely with US Hospitality Sale Team to define product needs to successfully drive share across multiple hotel categories: economy, mass, and premium.

Works closely with US Hospitality Sales Team and Operations to define successful product lifecycle management.

Integrated Marketing Planning:

Provides direction and collaborates with Brand Activation to develop successful go-to-market strategies.

Works closely with Brand Activation to ensure Licensees uphold brand standards and positioning.

Insights and Data Analysis:

Uses market data and consumer research to understand new opportunities for the brand or product categories.

Uses internal sales data to build reports and analyze sales performance.

Compiles market, sales, and consumer research data from existing sources for presentations and reporting.

Cross Functional Collaboration:

Works closely with Global Licensing to evaluate North American opportunities, define distribution territories, and ensure global brand standards.

Attends and participates in respective industry trade shows with licensees and hospitality stakeholders.

Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel a must.

Qualifications:

BS/BA Degree in Marketing, Business, or other related field required

MBA a plus

5-10 years of corporate business experience

2+ years of Marketing and/or Licensing experience - will also consider Finance and/or Sourcing experience.
