Job Summary We are a clinical neuroscience research lab studying substance abuse. We utilize structural/functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), transcranial magnetic brain stimulation (TMS), drug self-administration, and learning models of behavior to study neurobehavioral dynamics of learning and choice. We are looking for a responsible, motivated, and conscientious individual to assist in performing aspects of human research according to good clinical practices. Duties will include submitting and maintaining study protocols and paperwork, recruiting/screening research participants, and running experimental sessions per individual study protocols. Motivated/talented individuals will also have opportunities to take part in analyzing data and disseminating study results (e.g., posters, talks and publications) that can work to enhance competitiveness for future graduate/medical school applications. Additional duties will include assisting with various tasks for the daily research operation as needed. Must be professional with good oral and written communication skills, detail oriented, teamwork oriented and dependable. Experience in a human research lab is preferred but not mandatory. Experience with computer programming and/or neural or behavioral modeling is preferred but will also be gained. Common software/languages used in lab include, but is not limited to: iOS, MatLab, R, SPM, CONN, MRICro, Python, Bash SPSS, Microsoft Suite and E-Prime Given the COVID-19 pandemic, and the need to protect our university community including our students, staff, faculty and visitors, the University of Kentucky is requiring COVID-19 vaccination for all new hires prior to starting employment. Therefore, as of October 18, 2021, all new hires prior to their first day of employment must submit appropriate documentation showing, i) completion of the first vaccination against COVID-19, or ii) completion of the full vaccination series against COVID-19, or iii) approved exemption (medical contraindications or a sincerely held religious belief) through the formal exemption process from the COVID-19 vaccination requirement. For those employees who have completed the first vaccination against COVID-19 prior to their first day of employment, the second vaccination (if applicable) must be completed following the vaccination recommended schedule to be considered fully vaccinated.
