MD/DO/PhD or equivalent degree. - PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, or related field and significant experience and capability in clinical bioinformatics with a focus on Genomics.
Required Related Experience
Demonstrated ability in teaching students at all levels in an academic environment. - Knowledge of pathology and laboratory medicine practices in a variety of clinical, teaching and research environments. - Demonstrated interest and ability in scholarly activity evidenced by peer review publications and investigative experience.

Job Summary
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Kentucky, in Lexington, Kentucky is recruiting a bioinformatician with significant experience in Genomics and/or Pathology Informatics. - The successful candidate would join an academic hospital-based clinical genomics laboratory practice and engage in an active collaborative research program appropriate to title series and rank. - This potential open-rank position is available immediately and will remain open until the appropriate individual is recruited.

The Department is an integrated department of pathology http://www.mc.uky.edu/pathology/ with successful programs in anatomic and clinical pathology, a vibrant educational program for medical students, residents, and fellows as well as a nationally recognized research program in neuropathology. The Department maintains research affiliations with the Markey Cancer Center and Institute for Biomedical Informatics. - There is a strong institutional commitment to maintain and enhance research and clinical excellence within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
