Responsibilities
This Supervisory position is responsible and accountable for the centralized access center that supports admissions, transfers, bed management and patient logistics for the acute care hospitals within the CHI Saint Joseph Health designated market. Responsible for the effective and efficient placement, care planning and patient throughput across the continuum of care. Acts as and represents unit leadership when the Manager is unavailable. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Participates in maintaining staff competencies through education, mentoring and role modeling. Supports the Manager in interviewing and hiring employees, training employees, planning, assigning, direct work, appraising performance, rewarding and mentoring/coaching employee's; addressing complaints, and resolving problems. -
Qualifications
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 1 year experience in the discipline - OR 3 years' experience in the discipline OR Master's Degree and no experience
Required Licensure and Certifications
Registered nurse in the state of Kentucky. - Position requires a Kentucky/Compact State licensed Registered Nurse.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• 
  
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience required, overseeing nursing area and staff group.

  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, continuum planning, patient flow and throughput
    
  • Demonstrated working relationships with physicians. - -
    
  • Ability to oversee and positively impact clinical operations in a healthcare organization sensitivity to team member needs and cultural competence.
    
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic skills and abilities of a registered nurse, practicing within scope of the nurse practice act.
    
  • Leadership/management, communication, problem solving, collaboration and team building skills.
    
  • Basic word, excel, knowledge of basic hospital applications.
