Job Title: RN Telemetry Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, NIH Must-Have: - Experience with PCU patients - IV insertion - Blood draws - PICC/Central Line management - Ability to obtain 12 lead EKG - CPAP/BiPAP knowledge - Trach care experience - Knowledge of traction - Epidural/PCA pump management - Feeding tube experience - Continuous bladder irrigation - Wound vac management Description: The position requires a RN with a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience. Shifts are from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with every other weekend required. The unit consists of 35 beds, accommodating general med-surge patients including orthopedic and bariatric cases. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 4-5 patients per nurse, with 10-12 patients per PCA. Candidates should be able to read telemetry strips; however, a central monitor unit is available for assistance. Common diagnoses include orthopedic conditions, oncology cases, pancreatitis, arm/hand infections, weight loss surgery, chronic kidney disease, and sickle cell disease. Familiarity with EPIC charting is necessary. Nurses are required to wear galaxy blue scrubs, with PCAs in light gray. Most medications are administered on this unit, excluding those specific to ICU or complex cardiac requirements. Titration of heparin and protonix drips is expected per order.
