Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Orthopedics Discipline: RN Start Date: 08/05/2025 Duration: 8 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Schedule Notes: 8 week contract Nights and every 3rd weekend Required experience: 2 years acute m/s experience (within last 5 years) Preferred experience: Epic experience, MS neuro/ortho experience Submissions must include M/S checklist and evaluation type references Registered Nurse (RN) – Joint and Spine Center / Musculoskeletal Units (4-5) Location: The Joint and Spine Center (JSC), Floors 4–5 Unit Type: Orthopedic/Neurosurgical Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to individuals and patient groups within a specialized orthopedic/neurosurgery unit. Nursing practice in this role requires the application of critical thinking, clinical judgment, and advanced knowledge derived from the biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. The RN functions within the framework of The Christ Hospital's (TCH) model of care, which emphasizes patient and family-centered care and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration. Care is tailored to the cultural and age-specific needs of each patient. The RN practices in accordance with the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics and within the scope defined by the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. Unit Overview: The Joint and Spine Center / Musculoskeletal 4-5 is a 58-bed, fast-paced unit comprised entirely of private rooms. The unit incorporates state-of-the-art technology, including: Navicare Nurse Call system In-room computing systems Patient information and precaution monitors Secure, real-time communication via texting platforms Primary patient populations include: Total joint replacements Fracture repairs Spinal surgeries Craniotomies Intracranial hemorrhage The unit also accommodates medical-surgical overflow patients. Due to its diverse and complex caseload, this unit offers an excellent foundation for building strong medical-surgical nursing competencies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care in accordance with clinical best practices and TCH standards Provide culturally competent and age-appropriate nursing interventions and education Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote positive patient outcomes Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members while maintaining confidentiality Demonstrate adaptability and professionalism in a dynamic, fast-paced healthcare environment Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain competency through continuing education Qualifications: Required Education: Diploma in Nursing from an accredited program Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Licensure & Certifications: Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio or a Compact RN license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association Required Skills & Experience: Proven ability to provide culturally sensitive and age-specific care Strong communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical practice Evidence of ongoing professional development and clinical competency Adaptability in a diverse and evolving clinical environment About Talent4Health A leader and innovator, offering comprehensive talent solutions for the healthcare industry across the nation.
