Job Description Job description Coax Splicer --- Aerial and Underground Our client is seeking a Coax Splicer in Lexington, KY (as well as Rochester, MN & Reno, NV). The Coax Splicer is responsible for performing tasks associated with the aerial and underground electronic upgrade and splicing of coaxial cable for cable television systems. HOUSING & TRUCKS PROVIDED Responsibilities: - Place and install coaxial cable - Install passive/active devices, pedestals, vaults or coax splice cases - Pull Coax through existing duct package, pull cable through conduit either manually, blowing, or mechanically, and splice and activate underground and aerial lines - Splice active and passive CATV equipment - Rough balance and troubleshoot coaxial cable plant - Read blueprints, CATV design maps and basic electronic designs - Operate aerial lift and other related equipment to perform job functions - Frequently communicate with management on workload status - May occasionally perform routine construction work such as pulling rope/cables, climbing ladders, using hand tools, digging with a shovel, etc. - Accurately complete all required company documentation for each assignment according to established company standards and procedures (ie timesheet, truck report, expense report) - Previous experience splicing aerial and underground coaxial cable Qualifications: -- Knowledge of building strand, lashing, pole transfers and grounding required. -- Understanding of and ability to use: signal level meter, volt-ohm meter, AC clamp meter television test set, spectrum analyzer basic time domain reflectometer, system maps sweep gear. -- Ability to drive for results completing assignments timely and accurately. -- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) -- Ability to handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. -- Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills. -- Comfortable working with a team or alone. -- Must be able to pass a drug screen, criminal background check. . Must possess a valid driver's license Salary is based upon experience. $$$
