Job Description:

The Campbell House Lexington - Curio Collection by Hilton is a gem located in the rolling hills of Kentucky. Our recent renovation has enhanced the classic elegance and southern charm while maintaining the rich history of the boutique hotel. We are now seeking an experienced hospitality professional to join our team.

BASIC PURPOSE: Plan, organize and manage the in-house details for group and catering bookings. Participate in negotiating meetings, functions, rooms, rates and all related requirements. Ensure maximization of room and meeting space, revenues and profits while delivering a quality product.

ORGANIZATIONAL SCOPE: Responsible for the management and planning of meetings, conventions, catering events and related activities. Recommends and implements procedural changes and performs as team leader for all hotel department staffs participating in the event delivery process.


  1. Plan, sell, up-sell and detail the program with the client including: verification and modification of space and rooms requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes, decorations, special needs, business services, audio visual, etc.
  2. Manage function details and related activities to ensure that program requirements are satisfied. Anticipate and handle customer complaints and/or problems to ensure quality product deliver, customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  3. Attend internal meetings, interface with all hotel departments and prepare the appropriate resumes and paperwork to communicate client needs both internally and externally. Participates in periodic forecasting for group room and other revenues.


  1. Improve hotel convention services' products through: (a) the development of new sales tools, menus, themes and decorations, (b) the analysis of strengths and weakness of competitors.
  2. Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Participating in task force and committees as required.

Knowledge and Skills:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required, 4 year college degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 2 years experience in related positions with this company or other organizations.

Previous hotel experience and Delphi preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the Catering Sales and Food & Beverage professions.
  • This includes experiential knowledge required for management of people, complex problems, efficient sales activities, food and beverage management, etc.
  • Ability to make occasional decisions which are generally guided by established policy and procedures.
  • Must possess communication skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence professionals and/or hotel guest(s).
  • The position requires awareness and experience in group revenue management principles to ensure effective group block management.
