How You’ll Make an
Federal Tax Accountant requires (a) experience with corporate tax
compliance processes and practices; (b) corporate tax subject
matter expertise (federal, state, local, transaction); and (c)
experience with ERP and tax software platforms. This position is
the level after entry-level, with the expectation the incumbent
will be able to prepare and file tax returns using available
platforms with moderate supervision by Tax Manager or experienced
staff. In the role, you would be responsible for:
Reviewing, preparing and processing federal, state, and local
income or transaction tax returns, including supporting workpapers
and analysis and internal controls and retention
Reviewing, preparng and processing federal, state, and local income
estimated payment calculations and returns.
Supporting research of tax law changes and tax planning
Reviewing and preparing tax provision calculations, workpapers and
supporting schedules based on SAP financial records and supporting
internal controls and retention policies.
Supporting tax controversy / tax audit defense / tax authority
Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from
time to time in its sole discretion.
Bachelor’s degree (preferably Accounting) or equivalent combination
of experience and education (“ECEE”)
one year of experience in corporate income tax
Must possess core level of accounting theory and be able to
understand financial data with strong computer skills
Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products
(Word, PPT, Outlook)
Experience with tax software (i.e. OneSource, CorpTax, Vertex,
Experience with ERP systems (i.e. SAP, JD Edwards, etc.)
be authorized to work in the U.S.
