ResponsibilitiesCurrently seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join our team!!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs for finished product components such as gaskets, packaging materais, pallets, etc.
Manage supplier performance relative to KPI's. Participate in supplier qualification efforts
Manage price changes, contract updates, invoicing issues, inventory control
Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery to internal customers
Evaluate offers and negotiate pricing from vendors
Update internal ERP system with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
Prepare cost analysis for bids, new projects, etc.
Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
Work with other departments to ensure all products are received and are in good condition
Work with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies
Participate in quarterly and yearly cycle counts
Assist with storeroom deliveries between facilities as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
Experience working as a purchasing assistant in manufacturing is preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experienced with MS Office, including Excel
Experienced working with ERP systems
Ability to travel to suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers as required
Able to lift, carry and move a minimum of 25lbs
