Physical Requirements Sitting for long periods of time.
Shift Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00 (40 hours/week)
Job Summary The Community and Economic Development Initiative of
Kentucky ( CEDIK ) seeks a highly qualified individual to join our
team as a Post-doctoral scholar. CEDIK is a unit in the College of
Agriculture with faculty in two departments, Agricultural Economics
and Community and Leadership Development. CEDIK works closely with
Cooperative Extension and with community organizations on projects
that foster community and economic development throughout the
state. CEDIK's scope of work covers the land grant mission of the
University: research, extension, and instruction. CEDIK is led by
an Executive Director, Associate Director, Program Coordinator,
Research Director, and several Extension Associates. CEDIK's
research is typically supported through competitive grant funding
as well as contracts awarded by organizations and communities
within Kentucky. The Post-doc will work closely with CEDIK's
Research Director on conducting regional economic research (30%),
rural health research (30%), grant proposal development (10%),
manuscript development (10%) and independent research interests
(20%) that center on issues of social and economic importance to
Kentucky.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Experience with descriptive
statistics, regression analysis, spatial analysis, survey design,
and database management. Experience writing and managing
competitive grant proposals. Proficient in SAS or other Social
Science statistical software ( STATA , SPSS ). Experience with
authorship in manuscripts for peer reviewed publication highly
desired. Experience with working in the Census Research Data
centers highly desired.Must be organized, able to prioritize work,
and work on multiple projects simultaneously. Must work well as a
team player, and perform well under deadlines.
