Job SummaryUnder general supervision, supports the organization's responsibility in maintaining and improving the work place. Monitors all security, hygienic, and environment control standards to mitigate risks and prevent accidents. May coordinate environmental reviews, emergency brigades, first aids and evacuation. Compile, analyze and interpret statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents. Investigate occupational accidents, analyse their causes to prevent them. Trains employees in the areas of security and safety in the workplace.The EHS Sr. Specialist works with the Environmental Health and Safety Department to plan, direct, and implement Avantor' s environmental health and safety programs and to ensure a positive, safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment. They are responsible for the compliance with all environmental and safety regulatory agencies. While having a general knowledge company-wide, this position will focus on compliance monitoring and reporting in all areas of the company. This position would also respond to emergency situations when they arise and will support EHS operations and staff to foster a zero-tolerance culture and ensure compliance.Maintaining accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems; --- Facilitate organization and leadership development efforts to address the root cause of EHS related issues. Coach management and employees at all levels to ensure compliance with all EHS program expectations and applicable federal & state laws; --- Conducting risk assessments related to jobs performed by employees and suggests risk mitigation strategies through the Job Safety Analysis process; --- Recommending and implementing appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics; --- Training and assisting others (managers, employees, etc.) to complete their safety and compliance responsibilities (audits, follow safety rules, etc.); --- Conducting appropriate inspections and audits, and ensuring corrective actions are monitored and documented; --- Maintains employee files; --- Enforcing compliance of EHS and transportation programs; --- Completing and documenting all regulatory compliance activities through the EHS Calendar according to regulatory deadlines; --- Completing, documenting, and submitting required EHS reports and recordkeeping information; --- Conducting EHS training as needed, including new employee and contractor orientation; --- Responding to and investigating events including injuries and near-miss events. Drive closure of effective corrective / preventive actions, as assigned; --- Providing managers with regulatory information and direction to ensure compliance with external / internal audits and Federal, State, Local EHS regulations; --- Conducting environmental compliance site audits of TSDFs, non-hazardous waste facilities,solid waste facilities, as assigned;4+ years EHS Industry Experience preferred. --- Minimum 4-year degree in science or related field. --- Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with and work well with others in order to manage projects, meetings. --- Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence people and drive change. --- Exceptional organizational skills with a high consideration to detail. --- Must possess time management skills and have the ability to meet deadlines. --- Works well independently and in a group environment. --- Has the ability to deliver internal training effectively. --- Has critical thinking and problem-solving skills but is able to understand the departments overall objectives. --- Must be able to be entrusted with confidential information. --- Familiar working with various office equipment, computers and various programsincluding Word,Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, cloud-based systems, networking, and e-mailprogramsDISCLAIMER:
