Job Description:

*Job Summary*

The University of Kentucky is seeking a Biostatistician for the National Institute of Health (NIH) HEALing Communities grant. This is a multi-year grant aimed at decreasing opioid overdose deaths by 40 percent in 16 counties. This position will work within the HEALing Communities Data, Informatics & Biostatistics core at the University of Kentucky to:

* Provide statistical consultation regarding drug use-related health data management, data quality assurance, and data quality control; loading and linking data sets, programming for data visualization and automated report generations, as well as report designs.
* Perform statistical analysis of drug use-related health outcomes, creating and implementing advanced statistical programming for administrative and clinical data to improve evaluation of overdose deaths and improve timeliness of analytical results.
* Provide statistical services supporting experiment design, model development, and analysis for projects. Participate in evaluations of the effectiveness of drug-related surveillance activities and products.
* Respond to data requests and develop presentations.
* Contribute to project-related research activities and lead continuous improvement efforts to ensure that all study protocols are followed.

*Skills / Knowledge / Abilities*

Candidates must possess strong experience with SAS and R statistical programming, statistical methodology and modelling. Candidates must be proficient with SQL, GIS software, etc.

*Required Education/Experience*

Minimum of a Masters degree and one (1) year of experience OR seven (7) years of related experience required.

*Preferred Education/Experience*

Master's degree in a quantitative area (e.g. biostatistics, data science, epidemiology).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,981.00 - $84,115.00 per year
