Hybrid Remote Schedule

This role has the option to be a blend of remote and onsite work if department and business needs allow and with approval from direct supervision. Our hybrid remote work schedule combines three (3) days on premises with up to two (2) days remote.

Key Roles

Provides leadership and direction to the Power Delivery Right of Way department. Ensures effective coordination and direction of team members while maintaining a high degree of reliability and safety. Provides customer service in regards to Power Delivery Maintenance to the Member Cooperatives. Manages, directs, and motivates the activities of the Right of Way workgroup on a regular basis. Maintains overall authority and accountability for the workgroup. Provides leadership to ensure that team goals are accomplished to achieve high performance business results.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for right of way maintenance activities across the EKPC service territory.

Serves as a coordinator between EKPC Dispatch, other service centers, and emergency staff during major outages.

Serves as a primary contact between EKPC and Member Cooperatives for maintenance activities in four assigned territories.

Works with service center staff to document standardized inspection and maintenance procedures for completing tasks. Implements the use of these procedures throughout each service center. Develops review process to allow staff input for improvements in procedures.

Oversees all maintenance work orders for accuracy and completeness and follows-up with service centers as needed to ensure complete scoping and proper prioritization. Oversees the activities of contractors and required tools to complete the task.

Oversees the monitoring process of projects and open work orders, ensuring their timely completion and accurate closure.

Attends monthly system restoration meeting to discuss outages and explain those related to right of way issues.

Analyzes historical outage reports to identify possible changes in maintenance practices that could reduce tree related outages in the future.

Manages various projects to ensure completion on schedule and within budget guidelines by planning and coordinating workflow within team and ensuring sufficient resources and training necessary to perform assigned work.

Oversees the creation of maintenance contract specification.

Assist in the negotiation, and acquisition based upon the needs of the service centers for aerial patrol, substation mowing, substation spraying, right-of-way spraying, and right-of-way hand clearing.

Creates an annual summary report of programs costs and benefits.

Administers aerial patrol, substation mowing, substation spraying, right-of-way spraying, and right-of-way hand clearing contracts.

Oversees to investigates, evaluate, and negotiate settlements for damage claims with regard to right of-way maintenance and clearing.

Stays abreast of new developments in maintenance applications and all applicable governmental agency rules and regulations.

Presents, on an as needed basis, technical programs and presentations for varied audiences.

Develops and oversees PD maintenance right of way departmental annual work plans; prepares capital and operating/maintenance budgets.

Participates in a wide range of human resource related activities including compensation, performance management, disciplinary actions, staffing needs, etc.

Works in the field as needed to accomplish team goals. Oversees major projects and scheduled outages.

Plans, develops, and monitors annual maintenance schedule for teams.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements

Education and Certifications / Licenses: Associate's degree in related area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.

Experience: Seven (7) years of related experience. Experience working in a leadership capacity is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

Complete EKPC's Supervisory Training Program within two (2) years and attend ongoing Learning for Leaders training.
Must maintain a valid driver's license.
Familiar with the name and geographic location of all substations and line sections in service territory.
Ability to plan, prioritize and schedule work activities.
Good project management and organizational skills.
Knowledge of computers and computer applications required.
Good interpersonal skills; ability to work with a variety of personnel.

Working Conditions

This position is on-call. Some work outside normal working hours may be required.
Must live within thirty (30) minutes driving time of service center or other agreed upon location within the service center territory.
Usual office conditions apply with occasional field work at substation sites required.
Occasional lifting up to twenty (20) pounds.
Some travel within the system and occasional out of state, which may be overnight.%43150362%
