The Drug Product Development (DPD) develops formulation and processes to enable drug products at both clinical and commercial stages. To support on-going portfolio projects and technology innovation, the Sterile Product Development (SPD) intern will focus on formulation development and biophysical/analytical characterizations of biologics. This work specifically aims to utilize a DOE study along with a series of biophysical (e.g. light scattering DLS, SLS, DSF, CD, FTIR) analytical (e.g. HPLC chromatography, iCE, CE-SDS) and modeling methods to investigate the role and understand the impact of excipients on the solution properties and critical quality attributes of high-concentration liquid formulations.
Summer interns will work with mentors for -10 weeks on a guided research project within a PD Project Team. The program is organized to ensure that interns gain valuable industry and functional experience, work on challenging assignments, learn about BMS and meet diverse company representatives.
The program will feature:
An orientation, including an overview of company structure, products and brands

An introduction to the GPS and PD organizations

Exposure to senior management and business leaders
Formal presentation at the end of your internship
A mentorship program
Program Dates: Monday, June 5th, 2023 - Friday, August 11th, 2023
Please note: interns that will be in-person and reside more than 50 miles away from the work location will receive a housing stipend.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited university program seeking a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, analytical chemistry or related areas.

Strong analytical skills as demonstrated through previous experiences which may include: laboratory experience, project design course(s), research projects, knowledge of programming/scientific software and/or previous co-ops/internships.

Must have good oral/written communication skills and be able to work in a team environment.
Must include GPA on resume (program requires GPA of 3.0 or greater).
All candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship needs.
