WKU Summer Internship/FellowshipThe Lexington Herald-Leader seeks a smart, enterprising intern to join its award-winning team in Lexington, Ky., in the heart of the Bluegrass, in partnership with the College Western Kentucky University.For the summer, join a newsroom that covers breaking news, features, business and enterprise stories throughout Lexington, Central and Eastern Kentucky. We're seeking a versatile aspiring journalist who is skilled in reporting, storytelling and the use of digital media. You'll need a passion for journalism, news and teamwork as you work alongside other journalists on our reporting and visuals teams.In this intern role, you will need to:Master engaging storytelling, including reporting and writing on a variety of newsDemonstrate speed, competitiveness and digital savvy through aggregating, multimedia and storytelling toolsWork well in a team environment. Must have reliable transportation. Must have valid driver's license and vehicle insurance required (at least minimum insurance required for the state in which the employee works).Commitment to ethics.Ability to work collaboratively to aggressively tackle story packages.Comfort with a job that will be demanding, fast-paced and constantly evolving.About McClatchy: Our impact is growing every day. 30 growing markets.
