Our full service network delivers a variety of Primary Care Services including Family Internal Geriatric and Pediatric Medicine in addition to several specialties to deliver custom care based on the unique needs of our patients. **Responsibilities** **Temporary PRN positions to assist with abstracting medical records and updating records in new system. Requires attention to detail, clerical and computer skills and previous healthcare experience is a plus.** 1. **Job Summary / Job Purpose** Under close supervision, the HIM Clerk I provides staff with an efficient system of maintaining, filing, locating, retrieving and delivering patient electronic medical records. 1. **Key Responsibilities** + File and scan medical records into electronic medical records (EMR) system according to established policies and procedures. + Request and provide medical information to and from patient care providers in strict accordance with HIPAA and all policies and procedures. + Maintain medical records and other correspondence according to policy. + Maintain organization of information center and physical charts. + Manage EMR fax queue and assist callers by answering and referring phone calls or other inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communication. + Manage the flow of interdepartmental, outgoing, and incoming mail. + Pull and file charts for patient appointments, staff, physicians and/or other requests. + File loose sheets (patient records) in appropriate chart. + May answer phone inquiries regarding medical records. + Perform other duties as assigned. 1. **CHI Core Expectations** At CHI, we expect all our employees to live the values of **Reverence, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence** at work by: + Honoring and caring for the dignity of all persons in mind, body, and spirit + Ensuring the highest quality of care for those we serve + Working together as a team to achieve our goals + Improving continuously by listening, and asking for and responding to feedback + Seeking new and better ways to meet the needs of those we serve + Using our resources wisely + Understanding how each of our roles contributes to the success of CHI. 1. **Core Job Competencies** **Core CHI Behaviors** : The following behaviors have been identified as critical to all **staff** roles at CHI: + **Teamwork Orientation** : works cooperatively & collaboratively with others toward the accomplishment of shared goals. + **Service Orientation:** desire to serve and focus one's efforts on discovering and meeting the needs of internal and external customers. + **Achieves Results:** reflects a drive to achieve and outperform.
