Place of Performance: Ashland, KY

A-Team Solutions is seeking a Dentist for (30) thirty hours weekly at a local correctional facility in Ashland, KY for an opportunity that we are currently pursuing.

Job Duties:

a. Making oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity, diagnosing and developing or continuing treatment plans for inmates requiring complex dental care.

b. Administrative duties include working knowledge and technical expertise of Electronic Medical Record to a level necessary to complete patient documentation to ensure compliance with BOP Health Services Manual policies.

c. Treat simple and complex cavities including pin retained amalgams and composite restorations, posts and cores.

d. Aid in ordering dental supplies.

e. Provide root canal therapy on anterior and posterior teeth.

f. Perform simple and complex extractions, including surgical removal of tori and foreign bodies from dental tissue.

g. Institutes local and systematic therapy for chronic and acute oral infections.

h. Performs root planning, gingival curettage and mucogingival surgery.

i. Provides dental prosthesis/acrylic partial dentures, cast partial dentures, full dentures, and limited acid etch bridges.

j. Manage inmate patients requiring special considerations during dental treatment. This includes inmates with asthma, emphysema, allergies, diabetes, hypertension, heart murmurs, pre and post (after 90 days) open heart surgery, and behavioral inmates undergoing psychiatric care.

Requirements:

The Candidate shall provide a Dentist who is a graduate of an ADA approved dental school and who has acquired a current license to practice medicine in Kentucky, without restrictions, and must have appropriate insurance coverage. Past correctional experience is desirable, but is not required. The Contractor shall provide proof of CPR certification and evidence acceptable to the Clinical Director of recent testing for immunity to Tuberculosis or other communicable disease.
