Who we're looking for:
Toyota's Internal Logistics Engineering Department is looking for a
passionate and highly motivated Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead Internal
Logistics Engineering projects and work with cross-functional
groups.
Reporting to the Internal Logistics Manager, the person in this
role will support the Internal Logistics Engineering department's
objective to optimize the Toyota North America supply chain by
balancing the requirements of External Logistics, Production
Engineering Planning and Manufacturing Groups to develop the most
efficient internal delivery process.
What you'll be doing:
Lead cross functional internal logistics projects, while working
with Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America (TMNA)
Engineering groups and North American Manufacturing Companies
(NAMC) departments to troubleshoot and improve parts flow issues
related to Toyota new model management.
Challenge and break down the ideal situation and current systems in
pursuit of establishing the optimal business process to improve
supply chain performance using efficient problem solving and
countermeasure development.
Develop and execute strategy to communize and consolidate supply
chain data / KPI reflecting internal delivery, routing and returns
handling performance to facilitate daily process management and
problem solving.
Collaborate directly with NAMC departments and Pilot Engineers to
confirm process requirements, tool development and system
compliance requirements.
Development of PoC's and SOWs relating to automating internal
logistics processes, IT requirements and MES/ERP system integration
with AMR Fleet management software.
Commissioning & integration of AMR systems at manufacturing
facilities throughout North America.
Working closely with business customers to gather, interpret, and
define technical requirements during the initial onboarding process
and throughout the project lifecycle.
Able to build requirements traceability matrix linking business
requirements to DEVOPS teams around design and implementation of
custom software, ranging from low-level robot control code to fleet
communication and application development.
Collaborate with other teams including perception and navigation,
fleet management and application UI.
Identify industry leaders in logistics automation and ensure
internal product roadmaps align with best strategies and supporting
frameworks.
Managing tier 3 escalations from the implementation and support
teams focusing on Robotics or industrial automation experience,
including familiarity with PLCs, industrial robotics, and
industrial communication protocols.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Logistics
Management or equivalent work experience with justification.
0 to 3 years (Maximum) of experience with a minimum of two
platforms: PLCs (Allen Bradley, Toyopuc, Omron), HMI Programming
(Factory Talk, Screenworks), AMR * Technologies (MIR, Autoguide,
Omron, JBT, Creform, OTTO).
Experience in the Automation industry as an Engineer, Technologist
and/or project manager, technically delivering on projects is an
asset.
PLC & Ladder Logic Experience (Toyopuc preferred).
Automation & Integration experience.
Knowledgeable regarding automotive industry or manufacturing
processes.
Proficient understanding of the OSI layer, TCP/IP protocols and
their use-cases.
Proficient in navigating IT interoperability issues and driving
them to resolution.
