currently looking for a full-time Student Success Advisor. The
Student Success Advisor provides resources that empower students to
overcome challenges, improve skills, and gain a competitive edge.
The nature of the position involves a high degree of collaboration
between students, departments and locations within the
organization. Typical hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8
am-5 pm or 8:30 am-5:30 pm with rotating nights and weekends.
Responsibilities of the position include:Monitors student
attendance, performance, and academic progress.Serves as the first
point of contact for early alert referrals.Serves as liaison
between faculty, staff, and students for retention efforts and
initiatives.Conducts strategic interventions to students identified
as not meeting milestones. Interventions include emails, phone
calls, and other technological means to contact students. Contact
will be action-focused on resource referral and plan-building to
improve success.Develops and maintains close working relationship
with faculty and other administrators for the purpose of
collaborative efforts for student success.Reviews student records
for retention issues; follows up on progress through personal
contact and correspondence.Designs and implements appropriate
interventions for students.Manages the development of proactive
communication to the assigned population.Connects students with
on-campus student services, tutoring programs, mentors, and other
programs designed to help them reach graduation.Identifies external
resources to which students can be referred to assist with
overcoming obstacles to continuing their education.Assesses
academic difficulties, developing appropriate remedies and
evaluating effectiveness of the student welfare and retention
concerns.Properly conducts exit interviews with withdrawing and
non-progressing students to determine reasons for withdrawal and
methods to aid in retention. Track milestones and progress for the
assigned student population.Prepares reports as necessary.Assists
with functions and events such as registration, orientation, and
graduation (twice annually).Performs other duties
assigned.Requirements of the position include:Minimum of a
Bachelor's degree in related field.Two years related work
experience.An equivalent combination of education and work
experience may be considered.Detail-oriented.Ability to work a
flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, a
necessary.Proficient knowledge of complex academic program
requirements and academic policy informationComfortable with
computer generated reports.Ability to read and interpret documents,
ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to
maintain concentration and attention to detail while working for
extended periods of time.Excellent writing, oral communication,
multi-tasking, organizational and interpersonal skills
necessary.Proficient computer skills with specific emphasis on MS
Office programs and the Student Information System.Must be able to
sit for extended periods of time.Must be able to hear and speak
well enough to communicate with students, faculty, and staff via
the telephone and email.This job description lists the major
