Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chemical Dependency
Counselor to join our team and contribute to our mission of

disorders. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering
individual counseling and group facilitation, ensuring timely and
thorough documentation in electronic health records, and actively
participating in discharge planning based on the client's

- Student Loan Forgiveness Program What you will be doing:
- Provide individual counseling and group facilitation to clients
with substance use disorders.
- Maintain concise, timely, and thorough documentation in the
client's electronic health record according to agency
standards.
- Develop and implement discharge plans based on the client's
needs.
- Demonstrate a "whole person" approach to care, including the
patient and family/support system when appropriate.
- Participate in training sessions, compliance, and in-services
to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Complete assigned agency tasks promptly.
- Conduct family interventions as needed, including education
related to substance use disorders.
- Attend scheduled meetings, including treatment team and staff
meetings.
- Develop networks of care for the betterment of the client.
- Demonstrate an understanding of Harm Reduction principles.
- Meet regularly with the Supervisor to ensure achievement of
required minimum direct service productivity levels.
- Support student internships and learning through mentoring and
acting as a field liaison.
- Complete Government Performance Results Acts (GPRA) forms as
required.
- Collaborate with other members of agency clinical staff to
foster a network of support and diverse views on clinical
issues.
- Assist in the development and implementation of techniques,
procedures, and systems to improve the level of care or quality of
services.What you will need:
- Associate Degree required; Bachelor's or Master's Degree in
social work, counseling, behavioral health, or related field
preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with adults and
families with substance use disorders.
- Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDCII), Licensed
Chemical Dependency Counselor III (LCDCIII), Licensed Independent
Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC).
- Maintain licensure/certification standards as defined by the
State of Ohio and the agency.
- Participate in educational and training opportunities to
enhance professional knowledge and skills.Knowledge and
Abilities:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret human services
periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or
government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and
procedure manuals.
- Effective presentation skills to convey information to groups
of managers, clients, and the general public.
