Currently, we have over 1,100 employees across--Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee. -- -- The Closing Specialist directs and performs the loan closing function for the team from the point of loan approval through loan closing.-- Complete review of non-financial information and assign loan conditions. Maintain understanding of and comply with all regulations and procedures associated with loan closings and loan certification. Works with office team to deliver an exceptional customer experience by specializing in the closing process.-- -- -- MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: -- CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS:-- Develops and maintains strong internal and external customer relationships by coaching others and consistently providing quality service that is timely, thorough and exceeds customer expectations surrounding the closing process.-- Serves as a back-up to other Closing Specialists. -- -- DELIVERS AND SERVICES CREDIT: --Provide support to the lending process, including the following: --

  • Prepares all loan closing documents
  • Prepares and sends Notice of Approval, Denial or Reduced Request/Adverse Credit Action after FO or AS notifies the CS of verbal delivery of decision to the customer
  • Confirms accuracy of loan pricing and fees
  • Coordinates with teammates, customers and external contacts to gather appropriate documentation.
  • Coordinate with legal & credit partners as needed on special closing documents (borrowing base agreements, etc.)
  • Order & review title work, real estate appraisals and flood certifications.-- Comply with internal procedures relating to lien perfection and collateral procedures.
  • Resolves title work issues prior to closing
  • Enter chattel and real estate appraisal information into AgriPlus
  • Perfect lien position including recording and filing documents as needed (UCC filing, real estate mortgage, etc.)--
    • Review Collateral Evaluation Age Chart to determine if existing appraisal can be used
    • Follow-up on UCC terminations and lien releases for non FCMA liens
    • Follow-up on vehicle titles
    • Review entity documents for required information and customer signing authorities
    • Monitor and conduct post-closing activities and prepare checks/wires or provide direction to the CSS for preparation
    • Inform other roles of credit-related conditions, as needed
    • Assign credit-related loan conditions to other roles, as needed.
    • Completing loan certification in a timely manner
    • Review and verify conditions are cleared
    • Follow ---Relationship Standards of Use --- Spotlight: Post Closing Instructions--- for follow up/post-closing items
    • Rate lock according to policy
    • Order credit line drafts and disbursement cards or provide direction to CSS for completion
    • Submit internal refinance requests when required
    • Complete assignment of Crop Insurance Indemnity
    • Coordinate and prioritize closing & booking of all loans and leases.--
    • Complete closings. If needed, closing can be conducted by other teammates.
    • Comply with regulations by checking loans and being a compliance resource for the office or region.
    • Review reports to verify accuracy of loan booking, loan servicing, etc.
    • Assign follow up/post-closing items (such as servicing plan, loan conditions) for completion by appropriate team member
    • Verify loan collateral is booked correctly in database and key UCC expirations
    • Update database, collect servicing fees and recording of documents are required for the following servicing actions
    • Additional Advance
    • Collateral Addition
    • Collateral Substitution
    • Collateral Easement
    • Collateral Subordination by FCMA or 3rd Party
    • Collateral correction
    • Partner with the CSS to manage the scanning of loan documents -- CROSS-SELLING:-- Proactively identifies customer needs while interacting with customer to cross-sell core products and other services to our customers. ---- -- INFORMATION MAINTENANCE AND REPORTING:-- Monitors database entry and reporting; maintains association database; processes required reports from Farm Credit Mid-America databases -- -- MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience Extensive knowledge of agricultural industry (personal, professional or educational) is desired. High School diploma and at least six years of successful experience in two or more of the following areas: financially related customer service, loan processing, loan servicing.-- Farm Credit Mid-America experience desired and performance exceeded expectations. -OR----- Bachelor---s degree in agriculture, business or related field.-- -- Here's What We Can Offer You...
