Job Description:

The primary role of this position is to troubleshoot, maintain, install and repair plumbing fixtures and plumbing systems on campus and perform building systems preventive maintenance and repairs.Job Requirements:Minimum Qualifications Required: Education required to ensure success in this position:--- - - -High School Diploma or equivalent;--- - - -Journeyman or Master certificate preferred.Experience required to ensure success in this position: --- - - -Minimum five years' experience and demonstrated competence as a plumber;--- - - -A diploma or certificate from a recognized trade or vocational school, at high school level or higher with a major in the plumbing trade specified above may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required experience. - - - - - -Special skills, knowledge and abilities: --- - - -Knowledge of the principles and techniques used in troubleshooting, repair and new installation of plumbing systems.--- - - -Ability to safely use all types of power tools, machinery and scaffolds.--- - - -Ability to lead and communicate with others involved with campus maintenance.--- - - -General knowledge of electrical and carpentry principles and techniques.--- - - -Ability to follow oral and written instructions.--- - - -Ability to read and interpret documents such as plans, installation and maintenance manuals, blueprints and drawings.--- - - -A working knowledge of the plumbing code. --- - - -The following training will be provided: OSHA, Forklift training--- - - -Ability to work alone and in a team environment. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -License, certification, or registration necessary: --- - - -Valid Kentucky Driver's License;--- - - -Preferred to have plumbing journeyman or master license - - - - - - - - -Physical requirements: --- - - -Ability to navigate campus/public buildings and grounds--- - - -Ability to routinely carry 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.--- - - -Ability to climb ladders and stairs, walking, squatting, bending, kneeling to perform job responsibilities--- - - -Ability to traverse uneven ground--- - - -Visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of visionEnvironmental conditions: --- - - -May be exposed to noise and noxious fumes with required personal protective equipment; --- - - -May be exposed to the hazards of sharp tools and running machinery; --- - - -May operate fixed and hand-held power equipment; --- - - -May work varied shifts; --- - - -May work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.Ability to operate the following vehicles or equipment: --- - - -Ability to operate car, truck, fork lift, manlift, power tools and other equipment for maintenance work. ---- - - -Computer & mobile tablet use will be requiredPrimary Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - - - ---- - - -Maintain, troubleshoot, repair or replace plumbing systems such as domestic water supplies and fixtures, waste water lines and fixtures, storm drains, lavatories, water closets, urinals, water coolers, circulating pumps, water heaters, and HVAC plumbing systems such as condensate drains. --- - - -Troubleshoot and perform building systems repairs in accordance to work order requests--- - - -Coordinate inspections with code officials when required--- - - -Have a working knowledge of current plumbing and related building codes--- - - -Work duties may include other maintenance areas as needed or assigned, including necessary overtime and emergency call out hours. Other roles/duties will be assigned as necessary to assist the College in the attainment of the goals set forth and the enhancement of a positive, respectful learning environment for all staff, faculty and students.
