Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB ( PTCE ) or NHA (ExCPT);
Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of
hire.
Physical Requirements This position requires use of a computer
workstation, completion of tasks with repetitive motions, and
occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to
50 pounds. This position may require personnel to wear personal
protective equipment to reduce risk of exposure to work-related
hazards (e.g. handling of hazardous medications).
Shift Primarily 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday; some
weekends and/or holidays required per departmental need
Job Summary Assist pharmacist(s) in obtaining prior to admission
medication histories, assesses patient risk factors for adherence
to prescribed regimens, reviews/enters patient allergies, and
triages medication related problems identified via communication
with pharmacists, other providers, or patients. Assists
pharmacist(s) with M2B prescription processing and distribution to
patients / families within the Good Samaritan hospital. Collects
prescriptions and patient information required to process
prescriptions under the direction of a pharmacist, delivers
medications to patients, collects payment using a point of sale
system. Use of multiple computer devices/programs for adequate
medication history investigation, documentation, benefits
investigation, and prescription processing are required.
The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The
minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All
pay rates will be based on candidate's experience.
Given the COVID -19 pandemic, and the need to protect our
university community including our students, staff, faculty and
visitors, the University of Kentucky is requiring COVID -19
vaccination for all new hires prior to starting employment.
Therefore, as of October 18, 2021, all new hires prior to their
first day of employment must submit appropriate documentation
showing, i) completion of the first vaccination against COVID -19,
or ii) completion of the full vaccination series against COVID -19,
or iii) approved exemption (medical contraindications or a
sincerely held religious belief) through the formal exemption
process from the COVID -19 vaccination requirement. For those
employees who have completed the first vaccination against COVID
-19 prior to their first day of employment, the second vaccination
(if applicable) must be completed following the vaccination
recommended schedule to be considered fully vaccinated.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities This position requires dependability
and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be
reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No
Preferred Education/Experience Associate or bachelor's degree and
hospital and/or retail pharmacy technician experience
preferred.
