Position Purpose
The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for operating and repairing Hospital heating, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems and performing mechanical, carpentry and painting duties under the supervision of the Director of Facilities Operations.
Position Qualifications
Education: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Licenses/Certificates: None
Experience:
Desirable characteristics include two years experience as a maintenance mechanic in hospital or similar setting, a proficiency in written or verbal communications, possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public. Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards independently. Must be able to function effectively under stressful conditions. Strong electrical experience required.
Working Conditions:
1. Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, medical or employment status of patients of Henderson County Community Hospital and their families.
2. Must be knowledgeable of department equipment, supplies and instrumentation.
3. Must follow accepted safety hazards and initiate appropriate action.
4. Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action.
5. Must be able to develop a working relationship with medical staff and hospital employees.
6. Must participate in safety instructional programs.
