POSITION OVERVIEW:

dormakaba is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to assist our Sales Team with the selling of complex technological IP Solutions and services to financial institutions and targeted retailers across the Americas Safe Lock client base. This position will be located at our Lexington, KY office and will be responsible for maintaining extensive knowledge of the Solutions' parts, functions, and processes and assisting sales to close deals where technical expertise is required to fit the clients' needs.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Prepares and develops technical presentations to explain our company's Solutions or services to clients
Discusses equipment needs, data security, and system requirements with client's security and IT group as well as engineers
Works with Product Management and Engineering to research, develop, and propose modifications, if necessary, to dormakaba solutions to meet clients' technical requirements and needs
Collaborates with sales teams to understand client requirements and provide sales support to close deals effectively and timely
Creates or assists with the drafting of requirements documentation and materials that explain how dormakaba solutions and services apply to clients' infrastructure and operations.
Helps clients who have problems with installed solutions and recommending improved or upgraded dormakaba solutions
Solicits and logs client feedback and evaluating the data to create new sales and marketing strategies to target clients
Identifies areas for improvement and communicating these issues as well as possible solutions to upper management
Works in conjunction with Product Management in training members of the sales team on the technical aspects of the company's solutions and services to be able to properly articulate our solutions to our prospect and client base
Works cross functionally with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales to make sure all departments are properly tracking initiatives and aligning to internal strategy and goals

REQUIREMENTS

A bachelor's degree in engineering, marketing, business administration, or related field
5+ years' experience in sales and the IP technology field; preferably in the Financial Institution sector
A working knowledge of Agile Development Methodology (incl. tool such as JIRA, Confluence, Windchill - desired, but not required.)
Extremely detailed oriented individual with strong analytical skills (incl. advanced Excel functions)
Strong working knowledge of VoIP
Working knowledge of programming languages, a plus, in particular C++ and/or XML
A basic understanding of network architecture is required
CCTV & access control integration (Lenel/ Genetec etc.) a plus
Strong communication, interpersonal, Client service, and sales skills
The ability to relate technical information to non-technical Clients
Excellent technical and problem-solving skills
Travel up to 50% of time
